There is no regular technique for transcribing Arabic text into western script. the leading effect on these pages is on place names, and that minimal term el for "the" - a typical prefix - is a great case in point. Arabic does not spell out small vowels so el could also be "al" or "il" (at times even "ul"). It isn't going to distinguish higher and
